Lee Scratch Perry Goes Gold

Back in 2012 the japanese company Presspop put out the official Lee Scratch Perry toy figurine. Limited to 1000 copies it was sold out very quick [READ THE NEWS HERE]. A follow up in 2014, which was less spectacular is still available [NEWS HERE]. But now Jam Ra Records out of Italy created a new collectors item for all Perry fans: a handmade golden statue of Lee Scratch Perry under the supervision of the Upsetter himself. The resin statue is painted in achrilic gold and measures 7 inches.

The statue, reproduced in limited edition by a prototype in clay and apliques, is available in gold color and – on demand – in silver or in realistic coloring and decorations (beads and rhinestones).

Designed and manufactered in Tuscany (Italy), place of art and craft creations for centuries, this artwork is the living expression of the very soul of JAM Rart Studio and its devotion to King Perry, wich is an “Art Object” in itself.

The image is freely inspired by the famous picture shoot by the famous photographer Adrian Boot of Lee Perry in Switzerland, afterwards used for the famous cover sleeve of the album From The Secret Laboratory by On-U Sound.

Jam Ra
is a record label based in Italy, focused on Dub music. The beating heart of Jam Ra is the Clumsy Lab, the place where music is created, up in the Tuscany hills.
