Peter Morgan aka Peetah Morgan, lead singer of Morgan Heritage, has passed away!
The official statement was posted today by the Morgan Family:
"It is out of sincere love that we share that our beloved husband, father, son, and brother and lead singer of Morgan Heritage Peter Anthony Morgan has ascended today February 25, 2024.
Jah come and save us from ourselves because love is the only way.
Our family thanks you in advance for your overwhelming love and support, and we ask for your continued prayers as we go through this process. We also ask that you please respect our privacy during this time of healing. Thank you!

"I am shocked and deeply saddened by the passing today of Peter “Peetah” Morgan, lead singer of Morgan Heritage.
It was not so long ago in 2022 that I was assisting with funeral arrangements for his father Denroy Morgan and now to lose Peetah who was only 47, it's really heartbreaking. Led by Peetah, Morgan Heritage won three Grammy Awards and the Group has had major hits such as Don't Haffi Dread (To Be Rasta), Down by the River, She's Still Loving Me, and Reggae Bring Back Love. We honoured them at the 2023 Grand Gala at which they also performed.
My sincerest condolences to his wife Marie, the other members of Morgan Heritage Group and other siblings, the rest of the family, relatives, friends and to the music fraternity here in Jamaica and abroad. I shall surely miss Petaah's calm, unassuming and respectful manner. Rest well my son."

We did gigs together in Sao Paulo and Salvador and so we had time for reasoning. He was an easy bredrin to talk with, very friendly and you could feel that welcoming vibe in his delivery. Talented artist who passed away way too soon. My sincere condolences to the Morgan family. One love."
