In 1984, Dancehall was taking the world by storm through sound systems, but there was still no major stage for it in Jamaica. One man, Isaiah Laing, decided to use music to bring peace to Jamaica's hostile climate. His vision was to create an event where communities from all over Jamaica could come together for one night and immerse themselves in the cultural vibes of the island. This led him to take a leap of faith and create what is now known as the greatest one-night Reggae and Dancehall show on earth - Sting, under his production company, Supreme Promotions.

In an interview in 1985, Isaiah Laing said, "Sting is the heartbeat of the nation. If you want to know what's on the minds of our people, come to Sting and listen to the stories the artists tell of their lives and the hardships of their communities."

On December 26, 2023, we invite the world to join us in celebrating 40 years of the greatest Reggae and Dancehall show on earth. The city of Portmore, St. Catherine, Jamaica, welcomes Sting back home to the JamWorld entertainment complex. As we commemorate Sting's 40th anniversary, we are thrilled to reintroduce THE 10 GIANTS OF STING, which was our most successful staging ever in 2002, attracting over 40,000 patrons. It was also the first year Sting was streamed to over 5,000 people worldwide. Sting 2023 promises to be an unforgettable experience, hosted by the dynamic duo Nikki Hype and Bad Boy Trevor.
